Lesson 2 : Sketching-Tonal value

Shading is to give sense of depth, space and volume to an objects.There are four basic techniques tonal shading for sketches which are Hatching, Crosshatching, Scribbling and stippling.

- Hatching is a repetition of parallel lines to create broad areas of tone.

- Crosshatching is adds another series of lines that cross the first set to creating even denser area of tones.

- Scribbling involves drawing of random, multidirectional lines.

- Stippling is a shading technique of very fine dots.








Visual Diary Task :
From this lesson, I am going to experience three different shading techniques by using sets of pencils. The shading should be from light to darker.

Assignment


 This assignment is to sketch a few objects by using different tone of pencils. The highlight is the sketching skill and shadows.

 For this assignment is to sketch an object in details. I must sketch all the details about the objects.
