Exercise 6 : Reflection on Project 2
We were given brief on Project 2 one week before the mid semester break. In this project, we need to produce one set of 5 drawings and a report according to the site . we were given about 3-4 weeks to complete the task. Submission happen to Wednesday, 2pm, the week right after the mid semester break.
Site : 3K sports complex
Task : 1. 5 drawings
i- ground floor plan
ii- mazzanine floor plan
iii- one long section
iv- one short section
v- front elevation
2. A report with introduction , the building and its environment , building construction , building services, layout plan and referencing in APA format.
This is a group project with 4 members in one group. My group members are Tan Min Wei, Teo Zhi Ye( Celine ), Chiang Shu Ling( Mishu ). As a leader , i had divided the job into 2 part which are Min Wei will be in charge of drawings while the other three of us will be in charge of the report.
At first, we faced some problems on the drawings. Wrong dimension and wrong angle had forced us to go back to the site and measure it again and again. As well as the report, this is because we didn't gain enough information on the day we visit the site. All the details, materials and photos are taken over and over again.
However, we managed to finish our task in the following week which is the submission week. All of my group members finish their task in given time . Also, some will help those who needed help either in report or the drawings.
In my case, I am in charge of first two part of the report and the final arrangement for the whole report ( Cover page, content, pages , check the flows of the report, font size and type of font ). Thus, when I finished my part of the report typing, I helped Min Wei on one of the drawing . Also, my other group member also helped each other when they finished their task given.
Throughout the project producing session, I realize that cooperation is very important among in a group. Helping each other is the next thing which play a high role in a group in order to producing a decent work. In this project, I saw all my group members efforts and responsibility that really pleased me. I am glad to see we work as a team . Compare to the last project, I think we had improved a lot more communication and teamwork in this task. Not saying that last project was not good but now is even better than before.
Min Wei is the one who really amazed me with his hardwork paid in this project. He managed to plan his time well in order to complete the work. Also, quality of the works produced cannot be doubt. I can see that he had put many effort and time in this time around. he become more responsible, punctual to time, hardworking and patient as well.
Celine and Mishu also play a vital role in report part. They spend a lot of time to study about the system and structure of 3K. All the analyzing, explaining and understanding in the report are very detail and true. Both of them finish their task given in time although they weren't slept well for many nights just to finish the report in a good quality of work.
I appreciate all my group members effort and hard work. I thank them here sincerely. As a leader, I may not be very responsible and perfect, sometime i might be a little bit troublesome and annoyed but i thank them from tolerate my press on them through the process in producing this project. I hope if there is any chances that we can work together, I wish we can be a united and work well together again in other assignment.
